Elevating Workspaces in Denver: A Look Inside Our Visionary New Showroom

Change can be exhilarating, especially when it symbolizes growth, innovation, and a commitment to creating exceptional experiences.

That’s exactly what our new Denver showroom represents for us at Working Spaces—a space designed to go far beyond simply showcasing furniture. It’s a destination that brings our core values to life: advancing client experience, championing thoughtful design, and cultivating an inspiring environment for our team.

Guiding us into this exciting chapter is our Vice President of Sales, Suzan Mullett, whose career journey truly reflects our own trajectory of growth and forward-thinking vision. With more than two decades of experience, Suzan’s story is a powerful example of the expertise and passion that drive us forward, especially as we enter this dynamic new phase.

From Project Coordinator to Visionary Leader

Suzan’s path in the office furniture and design industry began in 2003 when she joined Jordy Carter as a project coordinator.

Back then, her responsibilities included placing orders, tracking them, and facilitating communication with manufacturers. But her ambition soon bubbled to the surface.

“I looked around and saw that the salespeople were having a lot more fun than me,” she laughs. Through determination, Suzan made the leap into sales, showing her talent for client engagement. Her journey from sales to team lead, and then to market leader for our Denver office after we acquired Jordy Carter six years ago, speaks to her drive and leadership.

Today, as our Vice President of Sales, Suzan leads our sales team across all markets. She’s committed to empowering our team through strategic guidance and collaboration. “Having been in the industry for over 20 years, I’ve got a lot of knowledge and experience to share with other salespeople. It’s really fun to work with them to make them more successful,” she shares.

The New Denver Showroom: A Destination for Innovation and Connection

One of the most exciting developments under Suzan’s leadership is our transformation in Denver with the launch of our new showroom. Set to open later this summer, this space is meant to be much more than a functional office. It’s a hub for innovation, collaboration, and a resource for both our design and client communities.

Our move closer to downtown Denver was a strategic step. “Downtown is where our competition is; it’s where the design firms and brokers are,” Suzan notes. “By positioning ourselves in the heart of the city, we’re making it easier for our clients and designers to experience all that we offer, firsthand.”

With 7,500 square feet to work with, our new showroom pushes the boundaries of traditional office design. It reflects the energy of Denver’s creative scene, as well as our own growth mindset. From cutting-edge technology to hospitality-inspired spaces, every detail is crafted to deliver an exceptional experience.

A Showcase of Thoughtful Features

Our new Denver showroom goes above and beyond the usual office environment. In its design, we walk the walk, actively showing what’s possible when innovative furniture and layouts are put to use for productivity and comfort.

  • Virtual Innovation: With a VR room, our clients can immerse themselves in previous projects or explore other showroom layouts using Matterport technology. This makes envisioning possibilities simple and highlights our forward-thinking approach.
  • Design Accessibility: A beautifully curated materials library sits at the heart of the space, letting clients explore finishes and fabrics up close. Cameras above the library ensure virtual clients can view every detail during consultations.
  • Employee-Centric Spaces: From a wellness room to private phone booths and even a living room-style office, our new showroom gives our team flexibility and comfort. These spaces also serve as prototypes for clients to see how various environments might support their own teams.
  • Community-Focused Design: Outdoor areas, a café-style setting, and finishes that capture the vibe of Denver’s Ballpark District make the showroom feel lively, welcoming, and deeply connected to the local neighborhood.

Beyond functionality, we also see the showroom as a canvas for artful design, with features like curved ceilings, bold light installations, and a dynamic rotating display of seating products. “We’re really trying to push the envelope and align ourselves with the neighborhood and the younger design community,” Suzan says.

Redefining Client Experience

What truly sets us apart at Working Spaces is our commitment to delivering what Suzan calls “unreasonable experiences.” Inspired by the book Unreasonable Hospitality, this principle has become a core part of how we engage with our clients.

From the moment a visitor arrives—often greeted at the door by our whole team—to unforgettable touches like red carpet moments, we constantly strive to exceed expectations and make every interaction remarkable.

“Our goal is to show up consistently and bring real value,” Suzan explains. “We’re not just salespeople talking about furniture—we’re bringing insights about industry trends and finding ways to improve our clients’ businesses.”

This dedication to a client-first approach extends through every step, from the initial engagement to post-sale service. By always going above and beyond, we build deep, lasting relationships with clients and the design community alike.

Looking Ahead

The excitement around our new Denver showroom is electric, and its opening marks a major milestone for Working Spaces. We believe the new space will create a positive ripple effect—from our clients and design partners to our employees, who will enjoy a vibrant, inspiring workplace every day.

“We want this showroom to be a place where people feel like they want to come and spend time, not just to learn about furniture, but to explore space and culture,” Suzan shares. “It’s about creating an experience, not just meeting functional needs.”

For us, the Denver showroom means more than a physical site—it’s a manifestation of our values and our vision. With innovation, community, and a relentless focus on exceptional client experiences woven throughout, we’re not just keeping up with trends; we’re actively shaping the future of workplace design.

“It’s going to be awesome,” Suzan says with a smile. And with her passion leading the way, we’re proud to step boldly into this exciting new chapter in Denver.
